Immunological Examinations
Description
Immunological examinations investigate the function of the body’s immune system, the levels of immunity after a vaccination or sickness, the presence or development of infections, while also assisting in the diagnosis of autoimmune diseases.
The human immune system consists of a complex network of cells and proteins that work together harmoniously in order to protect us against infections. These cells and proteins are spread out all over our body so that they can respond immediately to any possible “threat”.
After continuous scientific research and development, and after the discovery of new markers, immunological examinations can successfully detect specific antibodies and antigens and therefore determine pathological mechanisms and functions of immune system infections with great credibility and accuracy.
The laboratory of Mrs. Marinidou executes a wide range of immunological tests by utilizing different methods of diagnostic approach, covering the fields of immunochemistry, immunocytology, autoimmunity and histocompatibility. Due to the above, these tests greatly contribute in diagnosing a possible disease, monitoring its progress and eventually selecting a suitable and effective treatment.
The proper function of our immune system is especially vital for the prevention of many dangerous conditions. Disorders like immunodeficiency, blood diseases, autoimmunities and hypersensitivity reactions can manifest due to the abnormal reaction of our immune system.
Autoimmunity: We experience this disorder when our system becomes hyper – active and reacts intensely against attacks from internal factors.
Hypersensitive Reaction (like in the case of allergies): This disorder is caused when our hyper-reactive immune system responds intensely to external factors.
A weak and hypotonic immune system:
- Does not react to stimuli from internal factors which means that it does not detect and repel neoplastic cells and therefore leads to the development of cancer
- Does not react to stimuli from external factors resulting to the development of chronic and reoccurring infections from microbes, viruses, parasites and fungi.
That is why our goal is a structurally integral and functionally balanced immune system.

RESULTS
Constant progress in the field of Biomedical Sciences, the development of new specialized immunological markers and the variety of methods used are all achievements of technological advancements and progress. These great achievements help reduce the required processing time for the completion of the whole process and also ensure the high efficiency and accuracy of the results.
Expert immunological analyzers carry out the measurements and the results are evaluated by Dr. Voula Marinidou.
